Synopsis:

Crooked ranch foreman Thatcher sends his two henchmen, Parnell and Clint, out to murder his boss,
wealthy Peter Arnold who has just arrived to retire on his ranch, bringing in tow his daughter, tomboy Jessie, who
despises western life and can't wait to run off back to San Francisco. Stagecoach line owner Dave Collins and his
sidekick Chito show up just in time to deter the attackers. Collins isn't done yet, though, as a gold shipment sent on
one of his stages is stolen by Parnell and Clint, one of whom is recognized by Jessie, attempting to escape back to the
west coast. Collins has his hands full trying to retrieve the stolen gold, and dealing with Jessie, who's fallen
head-over-heels in love with him. (imdb.com)

Another one of my all-time favorites,
Stagecoach Kid has a very satisfying ending rarely seen in Holt's westerns.

I simply adore the lead actress
Jeff Donnell, pretty with a smile that just blinds you (when she ain't spittin' mad), I can't understand why we didn't
see more or this talented young lady. Born Jean Marie Donnell, growing up she became fixated on the popular "Mutt and
Jeff" cartoon strip and gave herself the nickname "Jeff." I remember reading somewhere once that Ms. Donnell commented
on how she wasn't considered a classic beauty by Hollywood standards of the time and as a result was cast in co-starring
roles for most of her career. Personally I find her "beauty" quite appealing, fresh and honest complimented by an
attractive dose of sass. 

Filmed in the Alabama Hills (Southern California USA), Hoppy fans are sure to
recognize Holt's cabin (exterior) as Hoppy's cabin. In the canyon where the stagecoach hold-up takes place is also near
the location of the ambush from the popular 1938 Lone Ranger serial and Hoppy's Rock. The ambush site is at one end of
the canyon (where the stage enters) and Hoppy's rock on the other end (only briefly seen since it is behind the
camera).
